NEDELLE TORRISI JOINS TIN ANGEL
We are thrilled to announce that the amazing Nedelle Torrisi has joined the Tin Angel family.
Nedelle Torrisi has spent about a decade making music-in her own band (Cryptacize), backing other people's bands (Xiu Xiu, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Saturday Looks Good to Me, and Sufjan Stevens's band), and, since 2005's From the Lion's Mouth (credited simply to "Nedelle" no last name) as a solo act turning out blissful R&B-tilting jams.
She releases her new album, Advice From Paradise, this Summer and it's her best work yet, full of smooth and synth-y grooves, Torrisi's dreamy vocals, and cameos from Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Nite Jewel, and Julia Holter.
More fabulous and exciting news coming your way soon!!
VON SPAR - STREETLIFE
We're extremely excited to reveal that on the 29th of April we will be releasing Von Spar's latest album 'Streetlife'. Von Spar are many things, but above all, they are one of the most amazing bands in the realms that the British music press once baptized as Krautrock. Inspired equally by techno, synthpop, noise, post- punk and new music, 'Streetlife' is an album jam-packed with amazing songs, some of which feature another Tin Angel favourite 'Marker Starling'.
You can pre-order your copy here!

NICHOLAS KRGOVICH ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM THE HILLS OUT 04.03.16!!
Don't say we don't spoil you! Yes, that's right, this fab new offering from Vancouver based multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Krgovich is out early spring 2016! The Hills is 12 tracks of analogue synths, intricate melodies, lush strings and slinking rhythms, as labyrinthine and intoxicating as the city that inspired it.
Nicholas' sleek future-pop has revelled in LA's twin beauty and darkness for years. That "unknowable sprawl," that "twinkling land of dreamers and desperation and ambition and beautiful weather," as he calls it, was the backdrop for last year's cult acclaimed solo album On Sunset. Now comes another set of twilight tales of darkened boulevards and sun-soaked mansion pool-sides, and the ghosts and eccentrics who inhabit them.

Tin Angel is proud to announce that we will be participating in this year's International Cassette Store Day! We will be issuing a special split release between the dream American pairing of Zelienople and Opal Onyx for the occasion. Fittingly entitled "ZelienOpal", it captures both bands at their instrumental and emotive peaks, with each side a thrilling journey through two very different soundscapes. The lush artwork for this release was created by Giselle Zatonyl. Limited to 80 tapes, one pressing only!
Listen to "Bullets", the opening track from Opal Onyx's side, via the SoundCloud player below.
ED ASKEW REISSUE AND EUROPEAN TOUR
Tin Angel Records will be reissuing Ed Askew’s Ask the Unicorn this October. Recorded and released in the late 1960s, the album went largely unappreciated in its era but became an item of critical and fan devotion and is ready to be revived for a waiting audience. Ask the Unicorn will be released on white vinyl 23rd October 2015.
The cover for the UK release, reproduced above, is the positive of the US edition. It is a photo of the protests in Stamford following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was remastered from the original pressing by Jessica Thompson (Awesome Tapes from Africa, Tompkins Square) at the Magic Shop in NYC so that it sounds better than ever -- clearer, deeper, and louder. The insert features an original poster made Askew for one of this shows in New Haven, CT; and liner notes by Clifford Allen (Tiny Mix Tapes), an ESP-Disk scholar and friend of the band, who interviewed Askew over the course of several months.
